How much has engine displacement gone up/down in your car ownership?

Kinja'd!!!

Similar to the question of “how much horsepower you own/owned”, but lets see who’s had a increase or decrease in displacement over time.

It’s been quite linear in increase for me. I’ve gone from my 1.8L Astra, to the 2.0L Focus ST and 2.5L 944; and if we count the 911(to a slight extent), then 2.7L. I’m almost to 3.0L, And I only hope that the displacement number goes up! I would very much like my next car to be north of 3.0L. Is it weird that I consider displacement important when thinking about future cars? But I suppose it’s somewhat similar to cylinder count, because I want whatever my next car to not be another 4-pot. :p

So, how’s your engine displacement changed over the years?

Downward trend. 3.4L average right now. Aside from one outlier, my horsepower has averaged around 250 and 0-60 averages 7.7, with it trending down. Not bad, considering this spans 21 model years.

First two cars were 3.0. Wife’s car was a 1.8. Then we got a 6.0 and a 5.0.

I plan to get a b18 swapped in m current car, so it’s going back up? (yay)

V12?

I’m keeping pretty steady, but I won’t lie. I want a V12, for the sake of having one before it’s too late.
